All Natural Products That You Should Try
Updated: Feb 5
Patience, to some people, is a long lost virtue. We live in a society that has gotten used to getting everything fast. The competitive speed at which costumers can receive results is on demand, and that's why many brands are willing to compromise their integrity in product quality, safe working practices and sustainability in order to fulfill this need. And what are we as an individual sacrificing to get our fast paced lifestyle needs met?
I used to steer away from clean beauty products because it took patience and effort from me. I wanted my skin to look clear, but wasn't willing to wait a few months for it to actually heal with proper diet and natural products. "Cinderella effect" products show much quicker results, but they're just a band-aid, and the price you're paying for it is your health. Our skin is a highly absorbent organ, which is why it's so important to be conscious about what we apply on it.
Today I want to share the all natural (and mostly local!) products that I use. Ever since I transitioned into clean products, Generation Green has been my go-to store to purchase from! The owner, Sherry, puts so much care into selecting brands that use safe and natural ingredients, paired with sustainable packaging.
I feel proud to work with businesses that I have personally supported for a long time, so I'm happy to say that I've partnered with Generation Green to bring you guys a 15% off discount for all regular priced items for the month of October! Simply show them this post when you're checking out in store! Now, let's get to the products! I'll link everything at the end of this post.
My skin care routine is very simple. I wash my face twice a day with a face wash from just the goods. I love how it cleans without leaving it dry!
I then moisturize with a sea buckthorn oil from holistic thingz. This product delivers amazing results if you're patient enough.
In the evenings, I apply tea tree oil in any acne spots. I've been using one from thursday plantation, which works great, but I'll probably switch to a local brand once this one is done.
For sunscreen, I use one by unika. It can become crumbly if you rub it, so I like gently tapping it onto my skin.
I also use a cannabis infused salve from prairie sun healing to moisturize my lips throughout the day, and in any dry areas of my body. I personally don't experience much body pain, but this product's focus is actually in soothing pain related to muscles, joins and nerves!
Lastly, I use the goddess vitamin c beauty mask from sweet spirit apothecary whenever I want to take my skin care routine to the next level. They wild craft their ingredients (weather permitting), and all products are created seasonally in small batches.
Hair & Body:
I recently switched my hair products and am loving the results! I used to buy a shampoo from carina organics, which I still recommend, but am now using a shampoo and conditioner bar from unwrapped life. Besides the fact that my hair feels amazing, this bar is waste free and seems to last a long time. Great investment! After washing my hair, I apply a bit of the hair repair oil from saje, which I really like as well.
For body wash, I use the unscented company's product. I love how you can refill it at Generation Green and avoid plastic waste.
My deodorant is from saje, and it's called the peaceful warrior.
I don't usually wear makeup, but when I do, it's just mascara! Mine is from unika. It doesn't give me that dramatic lash effect, but I'm happy knowing that I'm applying a product with safer ingredients near such a sensitive area.
As for perfume, I use an essential oil blend from sweet spirit apothecary.
For laundry and dish detergent I also choose the unscented company products.
For a multi-purpose cleaner, I make a DIY one and use it to clean everything. It works great! To make your own, simply combine 1 teaspoon of castile soap, 2 cups of water, 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol and a few drops of essential oil in a spray bottle and spray away!
I truly believe that there's no need to buy tons of expensive products to take good care of yourself. We're constantly being told that we need more, when we probably need way less.
I like having a few staples, but ultimately our bodies are naturally beautiful and intelligent.
To me, being conscious about proper nutrition and water intake are probably the most important things when it comes to outer beauty.
Hope this serves you well,
